Opportunity to Enliven Malden’s Downtown through the Arts
Sponsor the 2019 Performance Series!
In 2019 The Gallery is bringing art, concerts and performances to Malden to continue to enliven our city and build community through the arts. The Gallery is a nonprofit grassroots culture hub, originally residing at 480 Main Street and now virtual and roaming. The Gallery will host four concerts this year featuring high caliber musicians at various venues with reasonable ticket prices (and free for students and seniors). There will also be four open mic nights, offering opportunities for emerging performance artists to share their talent in five-minute slots.
The goals of this performance series are to: address the increased demand for entertainment events downtown; showcase top talent; inspire young musicians; and draw more activity to Malden’s businesses. We hope you will participate in this exciting effort by offering sponsorship, raffle donations, affinity discounts for concert goers and/or in-kind donations.
About The Gallery
In 2017, Malden Pops Up, a popup holiday gallery and gift shop, hosted a performance series at 480 Main Street. For this endeavor we received tremendous support from local businesses and the Malden Cultural Council. These 15 performances drew hundreds of new visitors to Malden – many of whom ate in Malden restaurants, parked in garages, purchased items in local shops, and noted Malden as a worthwhile place to revisit. The Gallery grew out of Malden Pops Up thanks to a generous offer to extend the lease over one year. Although now virtual, The Gallery continues to pursue its mission by hosting this performance series and attracting visitors to our local business community.
As a nonprofit grassroots endeavor, The Gallery depends on grants and the generous support of local businesses and residents to fund the marketing, performers’ fees, coordinator’s stipend, and other material costs. We also believe that sponsorship allows the community to invest in its growth through the arts.
Ways to support the Performance Series
All donors whether in-kind, raffle, affinity, or sponsorship will be mentioned on the website and programs as indicated below.
Champion – $500 or more – Recognition as Champion sponsor with logo on promotional and program material, mention at concerts, logo with link on webpage, social media highlights, ten comp tickets.
Star – $250 – Recognition as Star sponsor with logo on promotional and program material, logo with link on webpage, social media mention.
Advocate – $100 – Recognition as Advocate sponsor with logo on promotional and program material, logo with link on webpage.
Supporter – $50 – Recognition as Supporter with name on promotional material, name on webpage.
To further cover costs, The Gallery is holding a $2 raffle at each concert. Raffle donations, which could include gift certificates or actual merchandise, would be greatly appreciated as prizes. Again, your business would receive recognition for its contribution and some increased traffic into your establishment. The Gallery’s raffle donation needs are three prizes per show, 12 total.
Affinity Discounts for Concert Goers
The Gallery would like to work with local eateries and establishments to offer discounts for goods and services with presentation of a ticket stub or program.
For each concert, we would like to feed our performers with local fare and provide some small sampling of restaurant food. Your in-kind donations would help us provide refreshments for artist receptions or meals.
