2019 Performance Series

The 2019 Performance Series presents four concerts in various musical genres and TrueVibes Open Mic nights. Each concert features musicians who write and/or use original or traditional songs to tell a story and affect change through music. Delivered in a variety of styles creatively woven and influenced by different origins, the music is compelling and riveting. In addition, supplemental open mic nights will be held throughout 2019.

NEXT CONCERT: September 14 – End of Summer Blues with Tokyo Tramps

East meets West with this blues trio from Japan. Wife and husband team, Yukiko Fuji (bass) and Satoru Nakagawa (guitar) are American roots music enthusiasts who met over ten years ago at Berklee College of Music. Tokyo Tramps was born in Boston, its name derived from the Bruce Springsteen song Born to Run. (“Tramps like us, baby we were born to run.”) Together with drummer Kosei Fukuyama, they bring their love of the blues in a way that is respectful to the art form and sure to entertain. The Tokyo Tramps have enjoyed playing all over the US, including Malden, and have won numerous awards both locally and nationally.
