Ever heard of PechaKucha nights? They are a fast-growing phenomenon that combine socializing with short and visual presentations about creative projects, stories, or ideas.

“The [PechaKucha] presentation format was devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham architecture. The first PechaKucha Night was held in Tokyo in their gallery/lounge/bar/club/creative kitchen, SuperDeluxe, in February, 2003. Klein Dytham architecture still organize and support the global PechaKucha Night network and organize PechaKucha Night Tokyo.” http://pechakucha.org

PechaKucha offers a methodology for sharing topics of passionate interest in a way that keeps the talks snappy and allows many voices to share in one evening.

In Malden Now

Malden has joined the 1000+ cities that are part of this movement and will be offering its inaugural PechaKucha Night Friday September 21, 2018 at 7pm at The Gallery in Malden. PechaKucha is perfect for Malden. It offers us a way to get to know one another. Consider how many interesting stories, projects, ideas, art exist in Malden. What is cool about this format is that socializing is an important element of the process. Yes, lets connect.

Call for Speakers

For this first round, PechaKucha Malden is looking for speakers who have something interesting to share that relates in some way to the Arts and Innovation theme selected. Talks are delivered with 20 images, 20 seconds each. Each talk is recorded and added to the PechaKucha worldwide network website.

If you are interested in pitching your talk to the Pecha Kucha Malden team, please email ose@thegalleryinc.com and pitch your talk idea. PechaKucha Malden will select speakers by August 20. Talk pitches must be emailed by August 18.
