Next Concert, Jazz with Gabriela Martina

Gabriela Martina will feature her latest project, a collection of jazz compositions entitled “Homage to Grämlis”. Martina says about this work....
“ I am currently working on an album called “Homage to Grämlis,” which tells the story about my upbringing on a beautiful dairy farm in Switzerland. It includes traditional Swiss yodel sounds, cow bells, accordion and alphorn fused with all the musical influences (Gospel/R’n’B/Soul/Jazz etc) I have been exposed to during my 10 years of living as a freelance musician here in the United States. There will be 6-8 musicians involved in this project who all pursue their own careers, some from different parts in the world and eager to share their knowledge in combination with the purpose of this album.....
Through my new music, I have a feeling I will be able to come a step closer to my mission as a musician. Sharing my early life story in such a beautiful musical context can hopefully open some hearts for people in difficult situations.”

Songwriters in the Round

Songwriters in the Round

In this frenzied time of division, conflict, and concern about life, country, and earth – songs can be the respite. Songwriters help us navigate ourselves and the world around us by modelling reflection. Adding melody, harmony, and some rhythm, the reflection finds a stage with a community surrounding it.

In this spirit, The Gallery welcomed three songwriters to the stage April 27. Prateek Poddar, Rachel Marie, and Molly Pinto Madigan shared their craft in an intimate evening of original songs. Known to many in New England, Poddar, Marie, and Madigan are unique in their delivery, themes, and background. Yet they have in common the gift of capturing what many of us may feel, think, or wonder about in song.

Duo Sessions with Niko Malinowski, guitar and Sam Bigus, bass wowed the audience with innovative compositions. Keep watch for this young act. They will go places.
